Q4 is seeking an ambitious, passionate, enthusiastic and detail-oriented Intermediate Technologist to fill a position in our Toronto office. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 year’s professional Canadian experience, with a strong emphasis on the design of low and mid-rise design for communities and mixed use projects and working drawings.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and fluent in AutoCad 2016, REVIT an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, wood construction and detailing;
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Ontario Building Code, Part 9 design and construction;
  • Ability to work independently, developing and designing, coordinating drawings;
  • The ability to work on multiple projects and coordinate with various consulting professionals;
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Preferred minimum of five years’ Canadian experience in the design and production of projects;
  • Single family and multi-residential experience;
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Customer service focus;
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work efficiently and with accuracy; and
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;

Education

College Diploma in Architectural Technology (minimum 3 year) and/or Bachelor of Architecture

Responsibilities

  • Execute drawings, construction documents, technical documents, sketches, etc.
  • Collaborate in the production of construction drawings and specifications, according to set standards;
  • Collaborate in the production of conceptual drawings, technical production, and in solving technical problems;
  • Coordinate the production of plans and specifications with other construction professionals;
  • Conduct research on products and take part in the selection of materials and construction systems;
  • Conduct quality control checks on technical documents;
  • Prepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings;
  • Contribute to the overall success of the projects by committing to utilizing best practices;
  • Assure that all deadlines are met.
