Q4 is seeking a self-starting passionate and enthusiastic Job Captain to join our team. The successful candidate will have relevant experience with an architectural practice, with a strong emphasis in the low- rise residential community work with technical experience in siting and grading of sites and site plan design.

  • Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience with Residential projects.
  • A minimum of 5 completed wood frame residential projects (townhouses, stacked towns, back to backs, etc.) of site planning, working drawing and detailing experience.
  • Technical experience in site plan design, siting and grading.
  • Experience in site visits and construction administration
  • Proficient with Ontario Building Code (Parts 3 and 9, with emphasis on part 9)
  • Strong technical background in AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit; 
  • Shop Drawing review skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects;
  • High proficiency of MS Office including Word and Excel
  • Good communication skills with clients, consultants and officials


College Diploma in Architectural Technology and/or CET


  • Collaborate with client, city, surveyor, engineering consultants and builders
  • Prepare base plans, building templates, and ability to effectively site and grade singles and multiples
  • Comprehensive understanding of site services, civil engineering drawings, surveys, right-of-way’s, zoning by-laws and understands the site plan submission process 
  • Supervise the production of multiple projects simultaneously (with tight deadlines), prioritize and clearly communicate all stages of project with client and engineering consultants.
  • Coordination of site plan submissions, siting and grading, working drawings, details and specifications;
  • Management and coordination of projects and Contract Administration.
  • Align work effort and resources with contract and compensation commitments and proactively address changes, including additional services as required.
  • Responsible for site plan submission packages and working drawings with minimum supervision.
