Job Description

Q4 Architects is looking for an entrepreneurial Marketing Manager with robust writing and graphic design skill, who will help strengthen Q4A’s brand presence, and attract new work through marketing and proposals. This role entails coordinating content, writing copy, design and submission of compelling proposals, managing web content, and facilitating promotional initiatives. The Marketing Manger will also coordinate the firm’s involvement in sponsorships, speaking engagements and attendance of relevant events. Roles and Responsibilities include: 


  • Manage the firm’s marketing content by developing copy and graphics for all communications activities and marketing campaigns (Email, Brochures, Articles, Press Releases, Social Media, Website)

  • Develop, maintain, and update marketing and communication collateral. Including: staff bios, firm profiles, resumes, portfolio materials, brochures, award submissions, presentations, and PR materials, including coordination of their production

  • Create and manage content with our Team for social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram

  • Use analytics and measurement tools (i.e., Google Analytics) to monitor firm social engagement

  • Generate new ideas for brand awareness and support branding initiatives including internal and external communications

  • Identify and coordinate activities to promote Q4A’s leadership and involvement in the industry

  • Identify new business opportunities

  • Source and manage events. Including: annual conferences, Speaking opportunities, and awards programs and submissions

  • Coordinate and liaise with PR consultants and website developers for content, including project and event photography

  • Manage the firm’s website content

  • Conduct research into market trends and potential clients and generate reports to lead the firm’s business development efforts

  • Be actively involve in the Ontario and Alberta Architecture and Design community

  • Promote and attend industry and professional events (as required)

  • Manage workload and provide clear direction to the Marketing Coordinator intern

Proposal Development

  • Work closely with Leadership to determine RFP requirements and format. Coordinate and compile required material and content for submission

  • Obtain and review incoming “Request for Proposals” (RFPs)

  • Write, edit, and proofread content for proposals
  • Design layout, print, deliver proposals and track proposal outcomes
  • Archive submissions and update marketing database


  • A Degree in Architecture, Architectural History, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or Communications
  •  A Diploma in Graphic Design would be an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in proposal writing and presentation development in Architectural, Construction or Engineering firms 
  • Exceptional writing skills, creativity, and design sense with equivalent skills in design software (Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  •  Highly proficient in digital content management software and marketing analytics tools
  • Experience with administering social media and website content and a demonstrable track record in achieving results (increase of followers and network, successful firm-wide campaigns, engagement, brand awareness and generating new business)
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising campaigns (across all channels) which engage and motivate
  • Use CRM systems as well as SEO strategies and processes
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  •  A working knowledge of Newforma and Ajera would be an asset
  • Ability to effectively deliver quality work under tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
  • A keen eye for design and a love for great copy
  •  Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing
  • Strong communication and listening skills and the ability to translate directions into desired outcomes
  •  Team player and able to collaborate with a diverse team and clients

Our Toronto office is easily accessible by both car and public transit. Our open-concept design studio reinforces the collaborative, inclusive culture of our practice and the window-filled main studio space affords all staff spectacular views of the Don Valley.
