Job Description:

The Operations Manager is new and important role in our firm. The ultimate responsibility is to promote operational efficiency, creativity and great morale. The successful candidate is a person who is interested in design and construction and has a sharp business mind. They will have proven success in managing multiple teams productively, be skilled in project management, project finance, and resource management. This role reports directly to the Principal and work closely with the Studio Directors and Director of Finance, and will also collaborate with studio leaders and project teams to ensure a smooth flow of projects by effective:

  • Solution finding
  • Resource planning and management
  • Project budgeting
  • Project Profitability metrics and progress monitoring
  • Business process improvement
  • Contract development and review
  • Managerial decision support
  • Workload balancing
  • Interpersonal communication

Qualifications for this role including:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or a Master of Architecture with experience managing an architect firm.
  • 5+ years’ proven experience in an operations management position preferably in architecture or construction,
  • Demonstrated ability in developing, monitoring and managing project budgets,
  • Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of general business software,
  • Knowledge of Newforma and Ajera is an asset 
  • Interest and experience in the architectural or construction industry

Our Toronto office is easily accessible by TTC and car. conveniently located at the Yonge Subway line with a direct underground access to the office building. We occupy most of the 6th floor overlooking the Don Valley Golf Course, and our open concept emphasizes our collaboration when it comes to our culture and project work.
